The 6th Council of Presidents Meeting held in Xiamen

The 6th Council of Presidents'''' Meeting of the Global U8 Consortium was held in Xiamen University, China  from April 5th to April 8th, 2011.  The meeting was also organized jointly with the celebration of the 90th anniversary of Xiamen University’s founding. In 1921, Xiamen University was established in south Xiamen Island by Mr. TAN KAH KEE, a key leader of expatriated Chinese. 

The GU8 council of presidents meeting was held on April 7th, the day after Xiamen University’s 90th anniversary. At this meeting, representatives and presidents reported the current status of affairs in the GU8 consortium and set future courses of action, as well as discussing strategic planning. The GU8 consortium is a consultation network between international universities, originally conceptualized by Inha University, with the purpose of increasing cooperation in international joint research, education, administration and development. It contributes to internationalization of universities through students exchange programs, joint research projects, and development of education programs.
